Coder of the Term

At Lyza Education, our Coder of the Term award celebrates students across all age groups who display outstanding coding skills, creativity, and a genuine passion for learning. Presented at the end of each term, this recognition honours their progress and dedication in programs ranging from block-based CodeLab to Python and AI‑based courses.

2026 Spring Coder

Lyann, 9

Lyann developed an engaging Pong game featuring a unique mechanic where multiple distractions appear at higher levels, increasing the challenge and gameplay excitement. She consistently demonstrates creativity, innovative thinking, and strong problem-solving skills, while putting significant effort into designing and improving her project.

2026 Term 1 (Gold)

Zahra, 10

Zahra not only showcased her coding prowess in the Technovation Girls Challenge, but also demonstrated impressive design skills by creating thoughtful wireframes and user interfaces, highlighting her versatility, creativity, and ability to blend technical development with intuitive visual design to strengthen her team’s project.

2026 Term 1 (Silver)

Taylor, 10

Over the past five weeks, Taylor has consistently demonstrated strong curiosity and enthusiasm. Not only does he accurately follow instructions taught in class, but he also goes above and beyond expectations by enhancing his projects with innovative features. Taylor’s initiative and creativity reflect his deep engagement and passion for app development using MIT App Inventor.

2026 Term 1 (Bronze)

Ashlyn, 11

Ashlyn demonstrated strong App Inventor coding and leadership skills in guiding her team through the Technovation Girls Challenge. Using her initiative to independently learn and apply new programming concepts like lists and dictionaries to enhance their project, she naturally stepped into a mentorship role that helped drive team collaboration and success - a clear example of technical growth, effective problem-solving, and the confidence to lead in a STEM environment.

2025 Winter Coder

Tiffany, 11

Tiffany built an impressive smooth, fully functional shooting game on App Inventor where monsters appear randomly and players earn points with every hit, showcasing her creativity and technical growth; she even enhanced the user experience with engaging background music, making the game fun and immersive for players while demonstrating strong game-development skills.

2025 Term 4 (Gold)

Jia Yu, 10

Jia Yu coded a program that utilises functions in his Python code to perform calculations for various shapes, demonstrating his growing proficiency in structuring reusable code, handling inputs and outputs, and applying mathematical logic to geometry through programming techniques.

2025 Term 4 (Silver)

Lyann, 8

Lyann has shown tremendous growth in coding while delving into science concepts in our “Science with Scratch” course,  combining computational thinking, creative block-based programming and hands-on science explorations to build animations, simulations and interactive projects that bring scientific ideas to life and strengthen her coding confidence.

Ashlyn immersed herself in a transformative day of learning at Lyza Education, where she sharpened her coding skills in HTML and CSS, engaged with interactive lessons and worked on a creative website project to illustrate her journey from classroom to web-page with clarity and innovation.

Matthias, 7

Matthias displayed high levels of energy and created a coin-collecting game, with coins of various denominators falling down. He displayed a strong level of variables, loops and logic in his project at the tender age of 8.

Kylie, 8

Kylie's creativity and passion for customising sprites in our Game Creators with Scratch course brought her visions to life, creating an Alien game. Through thoughtful planning, she has made good improvements.

Ashlyn has excelled in app-building using MIT App Inventor, delivering projects like her engaging apple-collection game, displaying solid technical skills that showcase her capabilities.​

2025 Term 2 (Bronze)

Hridhaan, 12

Hridhaan’s curiosity and strong algorithmic understanding, exploring bubble sort and more beyond class shine through. He took initiative with extra coding projects and earned an outstanding 5th place in the IDE Code Builder 2025 out of more than 80 participants.
