Another Monday, and despite the gloom of a cloudy week up on the sixteenth floor, it did not dampen the spirits of our Lyza Scratch Challenge (LSC) participants and of course Kebbi. Inspired and energised by the friendly LSC vibes, they turned a grey-skied week into one full of excitement and possibility.

Kebbi then started touring and wheeling himself around Singapore, and even got patriotic, playing We Are Singapore in the background. The familiar anthem filled the air so strongly that we nearly thought National Day was just around the corner!

We sit down with our EdTech Quest 2025 winner Kyler, who is back in the spotlight - this time as an enthusiastic participant. Since his win, he has leveled up his skills through Lyza’s Young Creator series, diving deeper into CodeLab and Scratch. We sat down with Kyler to hear about his experiences, his favorite projects, and what’s next on his coding journey.

Hi Kyler! How was your experience in the LSC?

It was good, my project had a bit of bugs, but I managed to create my project the way I wanted in the end.

It is a thumbs up for Kyler!

Unlike the EdTech Quest which you competed against fellow Lyza students in both CodeLab and Scratch, this competition is all about Scratch! Having learnt both, which do you prefer?

I actually like Scratch more. I get to create games on Scratch, and I get to do it either in class or at home. I am recently watching Demon Slayer and I would like to create a game on it, maybe on Scratch.

We heard you will be learning Python next! What do you know about it?

I only know it is a snake. I have heard my mum saying about it, where she mentioned it is something even adults are learning now. I find it impressive that I will be learning about that, and I heard it can do even more advanced calculations too.
