As artificial intelligence reshapes classrooms and careers, Singapore is taking decisive action. In February, Education Minister Desmond Lee confirmed that the Ministry of Education (MOE) is actively studying how AI tools impact student learning.


The result? A newly formed Committee for Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, created to provide strategic direction and oversight across all Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), including polytechnics and universities.

Will AI replace teachers in Singapore schools?

No. MOE’s study confirms that AI is a powerful assistant for searching and summarising, but human teachers are irreplaceable for deep learning, especially for children aged 5-12.

How can my child prepare for an AI‑focused future?

We always recommend them to start with coding and AI literacy, especially at a young age, before moving to vertical skills: asking good questions to develop their coding and AI knowledge, explaining their reasoning, and applying ideas to real problems.
