Holiday Coding Camps Singapore - Lyza Education Inspires Young Tech Minds

Do you remember Lyann? Last year, we shared her story about how much she enjoyed attending coding classes with us at our Tampines campus. But what really stood out was not just her passion for technology, it was her excitement about sharing her Science inspirations with her peers.

That moment made us pause and think: What if we could create holiday camp programmes that bridges the gap between cutting-edge global tech and the unique interests of our students?

We are thrilled to announce that we have officially launched our seasonal holiday-only workshops this March! Designed to offer the best of both worlds, these workshops allow students to explore the latest advancements in technology while engaging with themes they already know and love.

Holiday Camps Available at 3 Convenient Locations

To make hands-on tech education accessible to families across the island, these classes are held across our three campuses:

• Orchard

• Bukit Timah

• Tampines

It was great to see so many students enjoying our lessons and picking up new tech knowledge along the way. We previously heard from parents that their children love coding and were keen to explore something fresh during the school holidays. That is why we made a little change in our holiday camps, to give them a new way to grow their skills while having fun.

What’s New?

Our March lineup featured two distinct workshops tailored to spark creativity and curiosity:

1. AI with Scratch: Students dived into the wonders of Artificial Intelligence through a simple, engaging example: Facial Recognition. Using the popular Scratch platform, they get to create their very own interactive game, played impressively without the use of a keyboard!

2. Minecraft: Building a Farm: For students who love to build and explore, this workshop introduced advanced coding concepts within a gamified world. While learning AI concepts, students apply their skills to design functional farms in Minecraft.

Showcasing Creativity & Innovation

The results have been nothing short of amazing. During the AI with Scratch workshop, students were thrilled to see their creations respond to movement and faces, mastering complex concepts through play.

Meanwhile, in the Minecraft workshop, our students did not stop at just designing farms. Many took their projects a step further by extending their land to include fully built houses, showcasing incredible creativity and a deep understanding of structure and design.

Did you know?

For students who catch the Minecraft bug during our holiday workshops, there is an exciting opportunity to take their skills even further.

There are both national and even international competitions on Minecraft, bringing like-minded students to collaborate on projects focused on real-world challenges such as sustainability and disaster resilience. They can hone their coding and Minecraft skills to develop creative structures!

For students attending our Minecraft holiday workshops, this opens up an exciting pathway: what starts as a fun week of building a farm could spark the inspiration to compete on a bigger stage!
