Currencies, multiplication tables and much more happening in our L213 Math with CodeLab curriculum! At just eight years old, Kenzo and Caleb are already diving into the world of maths and coding at Lyza Education. We sat down with them to chat about his experience in the course, especially the fun currency‐conversion section with Kebbi the robot.

Hi Caleb! Was there anything tricky or challenging learning coding?
It was easy at first when I first learnt about CodeLab, but now that I am in the Young Creators program, I find it challenging sometimes when I try to create projects with long codes.
Do you think learning how to code is something useful? Why?
Yes, I heard that it is important to learn the basics of coding first, so it would be much easier to pick up the more advanced skills, such as creating AI-related projects.
What is something you hope to try coding?
I like Pokemon, so I would like to try creating something about Pokemon.

Hi Kenzo! How has the experience been like learning how to code on CodeLab? Have you learnt coding prior to this?
I previously learnt Scratch. Picking up CodeLab was something new yet unfamiliar because the blocks are similar, but yet I get to see Kebbi running my projects instead of a screen, so it is a fun experience.

What was the most fun or exciting thing you did when learning about currency conversion and coding?
I find it interesting that through Math and Coding, I even get to learn about geography and currencies. Recently, I learnt about Euros, the Korean Won and Indian Rupees. I find it fun, as this is something that I do not learn in school, but yet I can use this skill while travelling overseas next time.
Was there anything tricky or challenging about learning coding?
Not really. Teacher Rachel is very meticulous while teaching, and it has been easy coding out the projects.

Do you think learning how to code is something useful? Why?
I think so, I heard that there are a lot of jobs that are related to coding in the future, so I think it would be important to learn this skill.
What is something you hope to try coding?
I like playing games, so I would like to create a first-person shooter (FPS) game.
What would you say to other kids who are thinking of learning CodeLab? Why should they join?
Learning how to code is an important skill, and it is fun seeing your projects come to life with Kebbi! In fact, a number of my friends also signed up for classes after hearing from me on what I have coded in class and they are currently still in the Beginner class (Kenzo is currently in the Young Creators program). I look forward to them joining me to learn more about coding.
In our L213 Math with CodeLab curriculum, students like Kenzo and Caleb are not just learning to code, they are learning to think. They tackle challenges, understand global currencies, and creating projects that come to life with Kebbi the robot.
Future-Proof Skills: As Caleb says, learn the basics now to easily pick up advanced skills like AI later.
Real-World Application: Kenzo loves applying his knowledge to real-world concepts like geography and currency for future travels.
Proven Engagement: From the Young Coders to our Young Creators program, we have a path that grows with your child's curiosity.
